Professor Christopher Findlay was until October 2018 the Executive Dean of the Faculty of the Professions at the University of Adelaide. Earlier positions include Professor of Economics in the Asia Pacific School of Economics and Government at the Australian National University (ANU) (1999 - 2005) and Head of the School of Economics at the University of Adelaide (2005 – 2011). He is now Honorary Professor in the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University. Findlay has a PhD in Economics (1982) from the ANU. He is a Member of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia (2002). He is also a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM) (2007).
